    Planning Minister Discusses Bilateral Relations with Visiting Moroccan Ministerial Delegation

    Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Suhair Al-Ali, met Tuesday with a Moroccan delegation visiting Jordan headed by Moroccan Minister of Transport Karim Ghallab. During the meeting, both Ministers discussed bilateral relations and means of further enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

     

    Al-Ali stressed on the value Jordan places on relations with the Kingdom of Morocco referring to Their Majesties King Abdullah II and King Mohammad VI recent meeting in Morocco.

     

    Al Ali highlighted His Majesty King Abdullah II's national reform priorities and provided an overview of the Ministry's role, the Government's reform agenda as articulated in the National Agenda and the “Kuluna Al Urdun” initiative, as well as the Executive Programme (2007-2009).

     

    Al-Ali also stressed on the need to exert more efforts to develop economic integration between the two countries. In this regard, she referred to the Aghhadir Agreement and Barcelona Process: Union for the Mediterranean as two important initiatives that can contribute to enhancing bilateral cooperation and the strengthening trade and investment relations between the two countries.  

     

    In turn, the Moroccan Minister of Transport reaffirmed the Moroccan Government's commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with Jordan, and expressed great satisfaction over meetings conducted with various Jordanian Ministries during his visit to Jordan.  He assured the Minister of Planning that many of the discussions would be re-addressed for follow up during the Joint Higher Committee meetings next month.
