Planning and International Cooperation Minister Suhair Al-Ali departed on an official visit to the United States to participate in the World Bank and International Monetary Fund annual assemblies as Jordan's Governor to the WB Group.

The two-day meetings, held on the 24th and 25th, will discuss the working mechanisms of the two lending agencies that serve the interests of member countries' development objectives.

On the sidelines of the annual assemblies, Al-Ali is to conduct several meetings with concerned institutions and donors to discuss means of enhancing cooperation and bilateral relations with Jordan.

The Minister is also to meet with senior World Bank officials to discuss the WB assistance strategy to Jordan for the coming four years (2006-2009).
