Jul. 27/ 2011 - AMMAN (JT) - The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and the King Abdullah Fund for Development (KAFD) on Tuesday signed an agreement, under which the ministry will support the implementation of a fellowship/training programme for university students. Under the agreement, signed by Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Jafar Hassan and KAFD Director General Tareq Awad, the ministry will provide JD150,000 to support the implementation of the programme, according to a planning ministry statement. The agreement is in line with the ministry’s support for efforts to increase employment opportunities in the Kingdom and reduce unemployment rates among graduates by enhancing their skills, Hassan said. The programme will provide training opportunities for around 2,000 students from nine public universities, he said, adding that trainees will receive a JD30 weekly stipend. |
